The 2007 Massachusetts Bicycle Transportation Plan public involvement plan will rely on an extensive set of existing resources across the Commonwealth. Where possible, the 2007 Massachusetts Bicycle Transportation Plan team will supplement the public participation plan with additional outreach efforts, as needed. The plan will seek public input, disseminate information, and promote public awareness of best practices.

Key interest groups will include:

• Metropolitan Planning Organizations (MPOs)
• Regional Planning Agencies (RPAs)
• Municipalities and organizations representing municipal interests
• MA Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Board (MABPAB)
• Bicycle interest groups
• Other transportation interest groups
• Schools and colleges
• The general public
• Elected officials
• MassHighway
• Adjacent states’ DOTs
